Changes to AoG banking services solution
MBIE has exercised the first of two renewals of the All-of-Government banking services solution.
This has resulted in a change to the Banking Panel, with Kiwibank choosing not to extend the term of their agreement for the over-the-counter bill payment services.
Kiwibank will continue to provide over-the-counter bill payment services but for commercial reasons these will not be delivered through the AoG framework.
Four agencies currently use this service.
The Agreement with Kiwibank ends on 30 June 2018.
New Zealand Government Procurement will be working with Kiwibank and the affected agencies to help them transition to alternative services.
The remaining panel providers on the Banking panel are as follows:
- Transactional banking services - Westpac
- Card services - ASB, BNZ, Citibank and Westpac
- Payment services - ANZ, ASB BNZ, and Westpac
- Foreign exchange services - ANZ, ASB, BNZ, Citibank and Westpac
After two and a half years of operation during its eight-year life, the Banking Panel has resulted in increased value and innovation for agencies.
Approximately $21 million of cost savings have been achieved through the AoG banking services solution since its launch in 2015. It is forecasted to save at least $110 million over the life of the contracts.
