Demystifying Procurement workshops head to Christchurch
The procurement team at University of Canterbury (UC) recently called on us to run Demystifying Procurement (DP) workshops for their procurement, finance and property teams.
The UC Procurement team had just completed a review of their procurement policy to reflect their University’s strategy to support the local economy and environment. The workshops were to help the UC teams refresh their knowledge and set the scene for the work they were doing.
Our facilitators Andrew Thrift and Karen McGuire flew down to Christchurch to run two workshops and take 35 UC staff through the procurement lifecycle. Workshop participants had discussions on the procurement process of ‘plan-source-manage’ and how increased focus on the planning stage can help them achieve government policy objectives. The workshop inspired some to try new things like looking beyond a written tender and exploring different ways to approach the market.
We run Demystifying Procurement (DP) in-person workshops every month in Wellington. We can run the workshops in locations outside of Wellington on request, or when we have sufficient interest.
Upcoming Demystifying Procurement workshops
We are working on bringing in-person DP workshops to Auckland, Hamilton and other parts of the South Island later this year.
If you have a group of 16-20 people at your agency who are interested in attending a DP workshop, we can support you. Express your interest on Hīkina.
Demystifying Procurement is also available as online modules on Hīkina.
