Government supplier relationship management project
New Zealand Government Procurement (NZGP) has initiated a project to establish a government supplier relationship management (SRM) programme.
The project involves developing a government SRM toolkit to lift capability, and demonstrate that a more coordinated and consistent approach with strategic suppliers will deliver benefits across the system.
We are developing SRM functional standards, collateral and training for government agencies, and testing the implementation of best practice with a small number of cross-government strategic suppliers.
We have established a SRM community of practice (CoP), using the knowledge and expertise of the group to support the design of the programme and ensure it meets the differing needs of agencies.
Agencies represented on the SRM CoP include Department of Internal Affairs, Inland Revenue, Kāinga Ora, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Ministry of Education, Auckland Transport, New Zealand Health Partnerships and the New Zealand Defence Force.
