Hīkina – Learning for Government Procurement and Property launches
New Zealand Government Procurement and Property has launched a new online training and skills development system for government procurement and property professionals.
Hīkina – Learning for Government Procurement and Property - is a learning management website for government agency staff to help build public sector knowledge in procurement and property.
On day one, the suite of training will be focused on procurement including new training in social services procurement and contract management; demystifying procurement; and information on broader outcomes in procurement.
Over time the content on Hīkina will be expanded, including for property professionals. The aim is to upskill and share knowledge using modern technology of learning at your desk.
The name Hīkina is derived from the Māori name for the Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment, Hīkina Whakatutuki. Hīkina means to lift up or raise and links well to the concept of capability and raising us all up together.
To access Hīkina, users need to be a government staff member and create an account using their RealMe login.
Hīkina – Learning for Government Procurement and Property can be accessed from our New Zealand Government Procurement and Property website under the improving your procurement section, and then under training.
