New government procurement platform – next steps

Part of: Procurement news ICT Software Solutions

ReadyTech has won the contract work on the design and discovery phase for the government procurement platform.

"We are really excited to start work with ReadyTech Consortium, including Consolidated Tenders and Hitachi Energy, on the design and discovery phase for the project," says Laurence Pidcock, General Manager, New Zealand Government Procurement.

"The initial contract is to work with us to design a panel management system. Having a one-stop-shop procurement platform to enable agencies and suppliers to shift their procurement lifecycle activities (plan, source, manage) to a digital environment is our long-term vision. We will be asking ReadyTech to work with NZGP, MBIE cyber security and our system architects to chart how we can best achieve this. Once this foundation has been established, we will be able to finalise the contract to create the platform.

"In the future we hope agencies will be able to establish or migrate their existing panels to the procurement platform. We want to free up agencies and suppliers time, reduce administrative burdens and capture higher quality data with a shared platform. More reliable data will enable richer insights and lead to better intelligence-led decisions," says Laurence.
