Procurement graduate programme

Capability services are excited to welcome 10 new procurement graduates who will be joining the procurement graduate programme in a few weeks. On 13 February the graduates will join their host agencies, after completing a three day induction at MBIE.

While we prepare for the new cohort of procurement graduates, our 2019 cohort are approaching their one year anniversary. With two placements completed, they are gearing up for their final year in the programme.

Interested in hosting a graduate?

We are looking for agencies to submit an expression of interest in joining the programme for the next two rotations (August 2020 to August 2021).

What does this mean for my agency?

  • You’ll be listed on the approved list of agencies for graduates to consider for their next placement and you’ll have preference to host a graduate over agencies who are not in the programme.
  • You’ve pre-approved budget and headcount to host graduate.
  • You’ll have the opportunity to be involved in the recruitment of the 2021 graduate cohort.
  • You’ll have the opportunity to meet with graduates at Auckland and Wellington events – this is a great opportunity to meet graduates who are in their last rotation in case you are looking to fill a position.

If you are interested in hosting a procurement graduate, send through your Expression of Interest (EOI) by 28 February 2020 to procurement@mbie.govt.nz. We’ll consider and respond to your EOI by April 2020 as we intend to finalise placements for August 2020 by late May 2020.
