Reporting starts on annual procurement contracts awarded to Māori businesses
As part of the progressive procurement policy, all mandated agencies are now required to report on their progress against a 5% target of their total annual procurement contracts awarded to Māori businesses.
We are working in partnership with Te Puni Kōkiri on the policy which aims to create wider social outcomes by increasing the diversity of government suppliers.
The first reporting period is from 1 July to 30 September 2021. For this first round of reporting agencies need to provide information on all contracts with Māori businesses that are active during the reporting period regardless of when the contract commenced. For future reporting agencies only need to provide information on contracts awarded to Māori businesses from 1 July within that financial year. The report is due back by 1 October 2021.
You can find the reporting template, which includes guidance for the reporting process, on our website.
