Spotlight on reporting – changes to the upcoming reporting deadlines
With the recent changes in COVID-19 alert levels and the additional pressures on agencies, we’ve made some changes to the upcoming reporting deadlines.
We are extending the deadline for submitting your Procurement Capability Index (PCI) assessments. PCI reporting is now due on 1 March 2022. You can complete the PCI reporting any time before the new deadline.
We are cancelling this current round of reporting for the Significant Services Contract Framework (SSCF). The next SSCF report is due 1 March 2022.
Broader outcomes reporting is still due 1 October 2021. For the first time we are also collecting reporting on the progressive procurement policy. This is also due 1 October 2021.
All government procurement mandated agencies must complete this reporting.
Broader outcomes reporting
We collect most of the broader outcomes reporting information automatically via systems such as the Government Electronic Tender Service (GETS). However, we still require manual reporting for priority outcome three: improving conditions for New Zealand workers – and its designated contracts for cleaning, security and forestry.
Establishing a baseline for the progressive procurement policy
The new progressive procurement policy requires all mandated agencies to report on their progress towards a 5% target of their relevant annual procurement contracts awarded to Māori businesses.
The first reporting period is from 1 July to 30 September 2021. For this first round of reporting agencies need to provide information on all contracts with Māori businesses that are active during the reporting period, regardless of when the contract commenced. For future reporting agencies only need to provide information on contracts awarded to Māori businesses from 1 July within that financial year.
