Transitioning to electric vehicles
This guide provides agencies with information to help transition their vehicles’ fleet to electric vehicles, through the promotion of good practices for planning, infrastructure and adoption.
As part of the Carbon Neutral Government Programme (CNGP), mandated agencies are required to optimise their fleet by reducing their number of vehicles. When replacing vehicles, agencies should prioritise battery electric vehicles (BEV) or a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) where a BEV is not appropriate for use.

The CNGP has been set up to accelerate the reduction of emissions within the public sector. The programme aims to make organisations within the public sector carbon neutral from 2025.
